Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce the 7th International Conference on GPS Radio Occultation (ICGPSRO) 2025 website is now available: https://hmsstc.ncku.edu.tw/ICGPSRO/ <https://hmsstc.ncku.edu.tw/ICGPSRO/> The conference will be held on 28-30 October 2025 at the National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan. The conference will address the scientific progresses of radio occultation missions and advanced GNSS technologies for the exploration of meteorology, climate, and space science. Tentative solicited topics are as follows. 1. Missions and programs (new missions and operations) 2. Retrieval methodology and science 3. Numerical weather prediction data assimilation advances and validation studies 4. Atmospheric physics and climate 5. Space weather 6. GNSS-Reflectometry 7. Reminder: registration open for 3rd GNSS Polarimetric Radio Occultations Workshop

Dear all, The “3rd GNSS Polarimetric Radio Occultations Workshop” will take place 10-12 November 2025, at the EUMETSAT headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Registration is now available at the workshop main page <https://www.eventsforce.net/eumetsat/frontend/reg/thome.csp?pageID=30083&ev…>. The deadlines are: - *15 October - Presentation submission deadline* - *25 October 2025 - Registration deadline* This third workshop follows on to the “2nd GNSS Polarimetric Radio Occultation workshop” from 2023. It represents a forum for addressing multiple uses and applications that have been studied in the seven years that polarimetric RO (PRO) data have been available, align the presentation of these results, and prepare recommendations for meteorological, space and research organizations (e.g., CGMS agencies, the EUMETSAT ROM SAF) and satellite data providers. The workshop will feature presentations and discussions in the following areas: Status of current and future polarimetric-capable RO observations Precipitation, convection, extreme precipitation events Use of PRO to evaluate model microphysical parameterization schemes NWP and climate model evaluation Assimilation of PRO observations Simulations and comparisons between PRO and passive MW radiances Recommendations to space agencies and data providers ROM SAF consultation process While the workshop will offer a hybrid attendance format, in-person attendance is encouraged. If you would like to present materials at the workshop, you can enter (even a tentative) title at the time of registration. An abstract is not required. STAR RO Monthly Mean Specific Humidity

Dear all, I am pleased to inform you that we (the STAR GNSS RO program, see https://gpsmet.umd.edu/gnssro/index.php) have completed our initial monthly mean water vapor humidity profile data from multiple RO missions (i.e., MetOp-A, COSMIC-1, CHAMP, C/NOFS, GRACE, SAC-C, and TerraSAR-X) spanning the period from 2002 to 2014. The water vapor profiles are generated from the STAR-derived 1D var algorithm, see S.-P. STAR-processed daily commercial RO data are available on line

Dear colleagues, I am very pleased to inform you that the STAR-processed (with a 90-120 minutes latency, although released daily for now) NOAA commercial RO (i.e., PlanetiQ and Spire since Jan. 2025) is available from https://gpsmet.umd.edu/gnssro/download_star_nrt.php We are still refining our quality controls, excess phase processing, and improving our GNSS POD prediction algorithm. In general, these results demonstrate that the STAR-processed results are consistent with those from the references (ECMWF forecast and UCAR's results). We also added a function to track users and data downloads(for all the STAR data) on https://gpsmet.umd.edu/gnssro/download_stats.php. We are pleased to have had at least 1,600 individual users download around 42 TB in the past two months.
