Hi Fiona,

 

If I remember correctly, last time we were in Leibnitz the NWP discussion was conducted in the main auditorium. That’s probably tricky to have remote participation, but I’m sure we can find a way if you’re keen.

 

The main aim of the subgroup is to provide recommendations for CGMS. So, is there a regional-specific recommendation that we could discuss (i.e. continue increasing observation density so that regional models also have sufficient observations)? We perhaps could reserve a little time for discussions of best practice in regional NWP. However, an extended discussion feels like a topic for the coffee breaks… 😐

Indeed, regional RO studies haven’t been a focused topic partially because we didn’t have enough data for studies. But with more data kicks in from private section, this could be a good topic. My opinion. 

 

There is no official remote access so far. But it does make me feel if the subgroup lead would like to have remote participants, we probably can just try to use someone’s laptop with wifi. This is an old facility so I don’t know how well it could be though.
