Dear IROWG community and ECCC friends,

 

I'm not sure if I am able to post to the IROWG list, but now that the dust has settled a little, I would like to offer condolences and sympathy to everyone who knew Josep, on behalf of the ITWG co-chairs and members. Although Josep was not part of the ITWG, we all work on similar problems to use our observations to help the world have better weather and climate projections. We know that the IROWG members and chairs, and local organisers will be in shock and disbelief to lose someone who was clearly held in such high regard by the community, but that it happened during the meeting makes it somehow so much more personal to everyone.
