Dear NWP centers, Just a short note to let you know that the Sentinel-6 MF flight software update to add tracking of Galileo occultations was successfully installed on February 5, 2025. After a short period assessing the GPS and GLONASS data, we have confirmed that the performance of the GPS and GLONASS NRT BUFR products are similar to their performance before the software upload. As a result, we are prepared to re-release the BUFR products for distribution on GTS starting Tuesday (February 25, 2025) within 15:00-17:00 UTC – the specific time will depend on the timing of the orbit downlinks. Please note that only GPS and GLONASS BUFR products will be distributed at this time while the new Galileo occultations continue to be assessed.
